Where is God calling you?
Missions.
At EBC, missions is part of our DNA. Therefore, we think that going on a mission trip is serious business and deserves an intentional effort. Therefore, everybody sensing God's call to participate in one of our mission trips, whether national or international, is required to complete an application. This application requests a lot of information, but it is also cause for spiritual self-evaluation. The form allows our Missions Team to pray honestly for you and consider any financial help that may be requested or needed to make your experience great.
Here's what's happening with missions at EBC
West Virginia Family Missions Trip
What do you get when you mix 3 churches, 20 adults, 9 youth, 22 kids, a few twists & turns, a lot of prayer, and the power of God? You get this year’s West Virginia family mission trip. Our mission team partnered with Corinth Baptist Church from VA and Living River Chapel in Sutton, WV to host Vacation Bible School. We also completed a couple of work projects for LRC, provided meals for the kids, and had many God-focused conversations with people in the community. The children who attended VBS heard the Gospel numerous times, and we saw one child come to faith in Jesus Christ. We are so thankful for our prayer partners and the support of our churches.

Filter of Hope Mission Trip 2025
The vision for Filter of Hope was actually conceived years ago when Bart Smelley and a group were surveying families living in abject poverty in third world countries to determine their greatest needs. The goal was to determine ways to transform their communities and break the cycle of poverty they lived in. God’s love motivates us to help families throughout the world who are struggling with water-borne illnesses and experiencing spiritual darkness. By offering people clean water and the gospel, they experience honor, dignity, and hope.
A group of eight ministered to many unbelievers in the suburbs of Puerto Plata, DR in July. Over 22 souls were won to the Lord and many households received the gift of clean water with water filters from Filter of Hope. Please continue to pray for those that accepted Christ as their Savior as the devil is fighting to gain control over people’s lives.
Armenia
Mission Trip
North Carolina Baptists have had a partnership with Armenian Baptists for many years. As the vision of work in Armenia expanded, so did the need for more workers. In 2022, a group of pastors and leaders went to Armenia to see the work being done in the name of Christ. During that ten-day trip, we were able to work with Armenian pastors, church leaders from the south, visit several churches, and preach across the country in multiple congregations. As a result of this first trip, the TriWest Baptist Network committed to a five year partnership with Armenian Baptists to train leaders through doctrinal and Bible book studies.
Returning in 2025, and looking ahead to 2026, the focus of the TriWest teams (2 per year) is moving forward. Because Armenia is in a strategic global position to influence so many cultures with the Gospel, the work is challenging, but the potential impact is incredible.
